These additional works will have an impact on the delivery timeline of the vessel to IOMSPC in South Korea and subsequently its arrival in Manx waters. This will be followed by further sea trials. The works will be carried out by the contractors and shipyard IOMSPC has engaged to build the vessel. Testing carried out by Manxman’s builders during routine sea trials revealed that additional work will be required to ensure Manxman is up to the rigorous specification set out by Isle of Man Steam Packet Company. MV Manxman is set to join the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company’s fleet in May 2023 after successfully completing the final round of sea trials in the Strait of Korea in April. Geraldine Ugland, wife of Chairman of the Board, Lars Ugland, had the privilege of ‘axing’ the vessel to signify its completion and bestowing the name officially. As a special touch, Manxman’s name has been painted in gold for the first year of service with the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company.
